DOUBLE DELIGHT FOR LAW

DAN BRADLEY SIGNS NEW TWO-YEAR CONTRACT
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law was a happy man after seeing his new-look side defeat League One visitors Walsall 2-0 at the Impact Arena on Tuesday night.
The Reds boss was also delighted at recapturing England C international midfield man Dan Bradley (right) who has returned to the club and signed a new two-year contract after he admitted going to league rivals Barnet just two months ago had been a ‘big mistake’ after misunderstandings over the move involving relocation.
“We are still waiting on the transfer forms from Barnet to totally finalise the move, but Dan is definitely back at Alfreton and we are delighted to have him here” said Law.
“He came back in (against Walsall) and did smashing. He has got bundles of energy in the wide area and we looked a lot better tonight in those areas which was something of a concern for me after Saturday’s game (against Port Vale).
“I thought it was a big improvement tonight and I think probably (it is) down to Dan Bradley maybe played a part in that”.
Law also feels the pre-season preparations are going very well so far.
“On a personal level, I think it is coming along well. It was always going to be difficult coming back with (just) two or three players from last year and then you are integrating another ten, twelve players and six or seven trialists, and it was always going to be a testing time.
“I think we lost convincingly against Chesterfield, but even then I was not too downhearted. Before the Port Vale game last Saturday I asked them (the players) for different things and I think we improved again.
“And we have come again tonight and I have asked them for three or four different points I wanted to improve on, probably reacting quicker on transition of play, better defence, the team starting at the front; a bit more organisation, stopping crosses coming into the box, and I think they have gone out there today and they have certainly done that and I think we are deserved winners.”
With no game arranged so far for this weekend, the Reds are next scheduled in action next Tuesday, July 29th when Championship club Rotherham United are the visitors to the Impact Arena for a game which kicks-off at 7.30pm.
