Alfreton Town v Bradford Park Avenue
Wednesday Mar 29, 2017
The Reds entertain Bradford Park Avenue at the Impact Arena, this coming Saturday April the 1st in a Vanarama National League North encounter kick off 3pm.
Alfreton will be looking to win their fourth home match in succession and put behind them the disappointment of last week's 4-0 defeat at Gloucester City.
The two teams met at the Horsfall Stadium back in November when a Nicky Wroe goal after twenty minutes gave the home side a 1-0 win.
Avenue currently lie in 18th place in the Vanarama National League North table on 37 points from 35 games played. The Reds are two places higher with three more points gained. A win for either side should see them achieve virtual safety.
Last Saturday Park Avenue had a 2-1 home win over strugglers Altrincham. Oli Johnson opened the scoring for the Avenue after 16 minutes. Elliot Newby equalised for Alti, ten minutes later firing past former Alfreton keeper Jon Worsnop. Newby was later red carded leaving the visitors with ten men. Avenue took advantage with left back Matt Hill poking home the winner after a header by Chris Sharp came back off the crossbar with ten minutes of the game remaining .
The Avenue team for the game was : Worsnop, Hibbs, Hill, Wroe, Killock, Knowles, Brooksby, Boshell, Sinclair (Sharp), Johnson, Rothery ( Chippendale)
Subs not used : Hall, Spencer, Toulson
Tonight (Wednesday), the Avenue face a difficult trip to play-off chasing Darlington.
The Reds are at home again next Tuesday evening, April the 4th when Stalybridge Celtic visit the Impact Arena for a Vanarama National League North clash, kick off 7-45 pm.
Before all this don't forget the Supporters Association's latest Race Night this Friday in the Alfreton Town Supporters Social Club starting at 7 pm. Five pounds entry fee which includes refreshments.
