Alfreton Town v Stalybridge Celtic

Alfreton Town v Stalybridge Celtic

Sunday Apr 2, 2017

This Tuesday, April 4th, Alfreton Town are at home to Stalybridge Celtic in the Vanarama National League North. Kick Off at the Impact Arena is 7-45 pm.

Stalybridge are all but relegated from the Division, currently lying next to bottom of the table  thirteen points from safety having only won five league games all season to date.

On Saturday they had a good 2-2 draw at FC United of Manchester. This was after two morale-sapping defeats. They were heading for a valuable three points until ten seconds from the end when skipper  Matthew Hughes commited a foul thus giving United's George Thomson the chance to salvage a point from the penalty spot.

Earlier Hughes had given Celtic the lead, with Matthew Wolfenden equalising for United. Daniel Wilkins restored the lead for Stalybridge which they held onto until those dramatic last moments.

The Stalybridge team was : Shelton, Morton, Wisdom, Hughes, Mather, Chalmers, Dunbar, Gee (Bagshaw), Bishop, (Roberts), Wilkins, Pilkington (McKnight)

Subs not used : Ahmodi, Oyibobuf
