Alfreton Town v Nuneaton Town

Wednesday Apr 26, 2017

Alfreton Town play their final match of the season this coming Saturday in the Vanarama National League North when Nuneaton Town visit the Impact Arena for a 3 pm kick-off.

The Reds are now safe from relegation following last weeks 1-1 draw at Altrincham. They will be looking to put an end to a poor run that as seen them not win for seven games scoring only two goals in the process.

Nuneaton currently occupy 12th place in the National League North table. Their most recent game saw them soundly beaten 4-1 at home by FC United of Manchester.

Their line-up for that encounter was : Belford, Elliott, Geohaghan (Penny 72), O'Hanlon, Langmead, Gascoigne, Scott (Tweed 85), Nicholson, Mills, Chambers, Kelly, Evans (Gvasi 85).

Unused subs : Wheatley, Taylor

Brad Gascoigne briefly, with the Reds was in the Nuneaton side.

Alfreton will be looking to redress the balance as when the two sides met at the Coombe Abbey Arena back in December, Nuneaton ran out easy 4-1 winners with the Red's taking the lead in the 13th minute through Adam Smith. Former Alfreton striker Joe Ironside then went on to plunder four goals with two of them coming from the penalty spot. Ironside is no longer at Nuneaton having now moved to Kidderminster Harriers.
