ALFRETON TOWN v BARROW PREVIEW
Monday Mar 4, 2013
TUESDAY, MARCH 5th, 2013, 7.45pm
Alfreton Town return to Blue Square Bet Premier Division action on Tuesday night when Barrow AFC are the visitors to the Impact Arena.
Reds manager Nicky Law has no new injury worries and is without just the suspended Theo Streete who sits out the third of a four-game ban and long-term injury victim goalkeeper Phil Barnes.
Law insists the fate of the team is within their own hands still. Looking ahead to the Barrow game, he said: "It is down to us, no-one else.
"Barrow have done well recently. We have done well also, but there are ten teams fighting to stay out of the bottom four.
"We got three good points against Hyde and a very good one at Wrexham, but we have now just got to keep doing what we are doing.
"As long as destiny is in our hands we will be ok, we don't want to get to a point where it isn't."
If Alfreton can achieve a fifth home win of the season, it will take them to within touching distance of safety and will also give them a first league double of the season having won 3-1 in Cumbria on Saturday, August 25th thanks to a brace of goals from Paul Clayton and one from Ben Tomlinson. Adam Boyes got the late Barrow reply.
The Bluebirds arrive for the game buoyed by the fact that they climbed out of the bottom four for the first time in over four months after a 2-0 home win over Tamworth last Saturday an'd they will obviously be keen to ensure they don't fall back into the relegation zone.
Indeed, Barrow have lost just one of their last four, that only being to a very late Wrexham goal at Holker Street last Tuesday, winning two and drawing once. They have also won five times and drawn another four games on their travels this season.
There is no segregation in place for the Barrow league fixture but all visiting fans are requested to enter the stadium via the away turnstiles at the Alma Street end of the Impact Arena only.
Admission on the day at the turnstyle is £18 for adults and £12 for concessions (U16s, Over-65s and students upon production of a student card).
