Alfreton Town suffered their heaviest defeat since losing 0-7 at Bristol Rovers almost two years ago, when they travelled to Tamesdide on Saturday.
Curson Ashton were the benefactors of a poor Reds' performance, which became disjointed following the horrific injury to key defender Terry Kennedy, who collided volently with the goal-post in the ninth minute as he cleared from Ryan Hall.
Kennedy lay motionless for almost five minutes and suffered a dislocated shoulder into the bargain, Alfreton further hampered just before half time when Tom Allan had to limp off.
Excuses can only gloss over events, far too many of the goals conceeded being preventable, virtually gifting former Salford City striker Matthew Warburton a hat-trick in the process.
Alfreton survived a spell of intense pressure by the hosts before Mark Shelton tried to respond with a shot that fizzled wide from 20 yards in the 26th minute.
Tom Allan's promising run ten minutes later petered out with a block tackle from Daniel Shaw, the clearance upfield leading to the opening goal on 37 minutes when Warburton took a return pass from Hall to steer past Fabian Spiess from ten yards.
Paul Clayton did everything but score when he turned neatly on Allan's 42nd minute lay-off to smash the ball against the upright, Curzon doubling their advantage in first-half stoppage time when Spiess lost possession to Hall when trying to clear wide right, leaving Warburton with a simple conversion.
Eleven minutes after the break, following Alfreton's most impressive spell without actually testing home keeper Hakan Burton, it was 3-0 when Todd Jordan's back header fell to Hall and he squeezed the ball home from a tight angle.
The fourth goal arrived in the 68th minute wnen Niall Cummins was left with a free header at the back post to score from Luke Clarke's deep cross, then with the Reds floundering Ryan Jennings belted the ball against the crossbar.
In the closing stages both Shelton and Clayton had shots blocked as they sought a Red's consolation, but in a fifth goal for the Nash came in the first minute of stoppage time when Warburton effortlessly claimed his treble after side-stepping Spiess to slot home from a Shaw through ball.
