Alfreton Town had to settle for a 1-1 draw after leading at the interval, when Nuneaton Town visited the lmpact Arena on Good Friday for a National League North encounter.
?As disappointed as the Reds were at not holding on for victory that point may yet prove vital in the survival stakes, Brendon Daniels providing hope with his angled drive in the 43rd minute after Ryan Jennings had played Craig Westcarr into the target area.
On a pitch made heavier by showers of heavy rain during the game both sides did well to create as many chances as they did, yet the simplicity with which Nuneaton equalised 11 minutes from time will have caused concern, with Daniel Nti glancing home a header from Niall Heaton's long throw.
Midway through the first half Sam Topliss embarked on a strong central run for the Reds before drawing a superb save from visiting keeper Ross Etheridge, Luke Shiels headed over from a Daniels' corner and Westcarr was not too far off with a header from a Topliss cross.
Alfreton continued to edge the first half, Chris Sharp then seeing a shot blocked before Tom Allan headed over from the ensuing corner, but it still needed an instinctive near post save by Viktor Johansson to prevent Nti from opening the scoring.
Another save from Nti heralded the start of the second half, then Johansson had to be alert to thwart Tom Elliott, then in the closing stages Craig Disley had a shot blocked for the Reds, Etheridge held a well-struck Daniels free-kick and Luther Wildin scooped the easiest chance over for Nuneaton right at the end.
