A late header from Alfreton Town's longest serving player Josh Law enabled his team to maintain their 100 per cent home record on Bank Holiday Monday against previously unbeaten Hereford United.
Job Ayo Akinde had given the Reds a 12th minute lead, but Chris Sharp equalised in first half added time for the Bulls, totally against the run of play.
Akinde, John McGrath and Danny Wishart were all denied by the framework of the goal at some point as Alfreton beat Hereford for the first time in five League and Cup games stretching back to 2005.
The third home win in the Skrill Premier surpassed last season's record by more than four months, with Dartford becoming only the third visiting team to lose a League game on January 5th, 2013.
Wishart, clearly enjoying a first start for the club, headed over from Law's eighth minute cross, then McGrath's deep cross from the left clipped the crossbar before Akinde opened the scoring with a flying header from six yards from a right-flank delivery by Daniel Meadows.
Dan Bradley was only just off target from 25 yards on 16 minutes, then a Chris Bush free-kick from 30 yards represented Hereford's first threat as it needed saving by keeper Ross Atkins.
Law somehow missed from ten yards when teed up by Akinde on 27 minutes, then five minutes later Akinde smashed the ball against the bar from the edge of the area.
Bradley Wood needed to head clear United's only corner, taken by Frankie Artus in the 33rd minute, then Akinde's back post header was just off target from Wishart's cross following a massive Connor Franklin clearance upfield.
However, Hereford equalised in the second minute of added time in the first half when Bush's long throw was nodded down by Sam Smith for Sharp to convert from close range.

Five minutes after the break a low drive from Michael West from the edge of the area was dealt with late in flight by Atkins, who pushed the ball aside before smothering it.
Wood lost out to Sharp at the by-line but was rescued by the diligence of Meadows, then it was Wishart's turn to hammer the ball against the foot of the post after a neat swivel on the edge of the area in the 55th minute.
Danny Leadbitter was caught in two minds as he dealt with Wood's cross and almost thumped the ball past his own keeper, but Rhys Evans reacted quickly to catch it, then at the other end Dan Walker blazed over from a Sam Gwynne cross.
Artus forced Atkins into a 77th minute save, then ten minutes later Nick Fenton's back post header lacked enough power to trouble Evans from a deep Law free-kick.
With barely a minute left on the clock Law rose high to loop a header beyond the diving Evans and neatly into the corner of the net to give Alfreton maximum points after Fenton had flicked on a Franklin throw, then deep into stoppage time Atkins did well to clutch a deflected Smith free-kick.
