Alfreton Town racked up five goals for only the second time at Blue Square North level when they dumped hosts Hyde United on Saturday.
The only other nap hand recorded by the Reds in a League game since becoming part of the Conference set-up in 2004 had been the 5-0 win over Hucknall Town last Boxing Day at the Impact Arena.
Admittedly the home side had two men sent off, including their debutant keeper Ayden Duffy who was replaced by outfield player Scott McNiven, but Alfreton had already established a 2-0 lead by the time Chris Lynch had been dismissed for an ugly tackle on Mattie Burke nine minutes before half-time.
Non-stop end-to-end action in the opening stages had seen Duffy forced to tip over an Ian Ross free-kick after just 60 seconds, then latest England C call-up Kyle McFadzean justified his selection with a timely tackle as Nathan Arnold picked out Lincoln Adams with a left-wing cross in the third minute.
The Reds took a 17th minute lead when McFadzean shot through the keeper's legs from an Anthony Howell pass, but after watching the ball drift wide of the target the referee pointed to the spot as Duffy had impeded McFadzean in the process right on the furthest edge of the area.
Duffy picked up a caution with Hyde claiming contact was made outside the box, but Howell calmly slotted home Alfreton's first penalty of the season and his first goal of the campaign and the whole complex of the game swung into the visitors' favour, as the Reds went on to dominate, despite Craig Dootson having to pull off a fantastic save in the 40th minute at point-blank range to deny David McNiven.
The second goal arrived on 29 minutes when Josh Law set up Paul Clayton for a shot that was blocked well by Duffy, but the loose ball was hammered in from an angle in spectacular fashion by Burke who netted for the second game in a row.
Well into the 45th minute Anton Brown was both architect and scorer of the third goal in a neat move that also involved Burke and Clayton in the build-up, Brown deceiving the keeper with a delicate chip that perhaps should have been dealt with.
Such was Alfreton's superiority by then that even in first-half stoppage time Duffy had to stretch to palm away a McFadzean header after a Ross corner had caused confusion in the box, aided and abetted by Clayton having two stabs at goal as the ball rebounded pin-ball style in the crowded box.
Ten minutes after the break Duffy was red-carded for a second bookable offence after body-checking Howell just outside the area, then on 63 minutes Hyde won a penalty when Richard Pell impeded McNiven and the home striker then placed the spot-kick beyond Dootson for 1-3.
The two remaining goals were scored by Clayton on 73 and 85 minutes, the first a well-timed overhead kick from a Dominic Roma cross and the finale a simple back-post header from a Jordan Hall cross as the Reds made it back to back wins.
