Which players would you keep from the current squad?

Mine would be Josh, Connor, Kempo, Quinny, Theo, Nathan Arnold, Anton, Clayts, Deverdics, Franks, Jarmo, Jake Moult, Mullan, and Ant Wilson

Think we would need five or six on top of that including two keepers

Oh, and come on York!

agree totally mate with your choice of keeps.Would like to see the beast back on loan at least for next season plus a good holding up midfielder.Reckon we want another striker too, and we will have the basis of a very good team then

Who ever we keep, its going to be a tougher season than the last one. A wisper says the chairman has cut the budget for next season, as we did not make the 1000+ home attendences per game required. This did not include away fans.

If its true about cutting the budget, we obviously can't compete at this level. I posted a year ago we will not get an average of 1000 home fans, I thought the chairman was being very optimistic.
If we can't get the fans through the turnstiles we need to generate revenue from other sources, apart from the Supporters Club having fund raising events I have not seen anything being organised by the club. I have thought for many years we do not promote the club very well within the local community, most locals do not know when we are playing big games against big clubs.
From what I have read, the Chairman manages the finances of the club very well, but it seems, from an outsider, that the Club sees itself financially at Conference North level.DeadDeadDeadDeadDead

Most people in Alfreton don,t even know what league we are in, the advertising is a disgrace and if some of the forum users made a valid contribution to the forum instead of all the back-stabbing, name calling and nastiness then my club will the better for it (carry on).

Echo all the points above. We are very lacking when it come to promoting the club and seem unable to do anything to generate revenue other than what comes through the gate. Don't see how we could have budgeted for 1000 not including away fans. You can only budget for an average gate 1000. We finished up with over 1000. If you budget for 100 including away fans your budget is say 1200 or whatever you think the average away following will be.

Average gates always include away fans, I think the chairman was probably hoping for an average of 1000 per game of home fans.
At a guess I would say the average home support was approx 700. Whether this is high enough for all the plans the chairman has for the club remains to be seen.

Whatever happens, we know we have the right chairman, and any decisions he makes will always be for the good of ATFC.Approve

This next season the club really needs to make a concentrated effort on promoting itself.
More posters, promotions through schools etc.
Get in touch with the council, see if we can have a sign put up somwhere WELCOME TO ALFRETON, HOME OF THE MIGHTY OFTEN. You get the idea.
Any more suggestions?
