Player Profiles 2017/18 - Tom Platt

The Reds signed midfielder Tom Platt from Harrogate Town in June 2017 on a one year deal.

Platt started his career at York City coming through the youth ranks before signing a professional contract in June 2012. After a loan spell at Hucknall Town,  Platt joined Harrogate Town on loan from York city in March 2012, scoring on his debut in a 6-2 win over Corby Town. His second spell at Harrogate came as a three month loan spell in September 2012. He made five FA Cup appearances and scored eight goals in eleven outings for Town.

A brief spell at FC Halifax Town followed before returning to Harrogate to see his loan spell extended for the 2012-13 season. He was recalled by York and made his first start in a 2-1 win over Torquay United in March 2013 before signing a new two year deal at the end of that season.

He returned one again to Harrogate in August 2015 and again in January 2016, his contract a York terminated by mutual consent, joining Harrogate on a permanent basis. At the end of the season he was released.
