Player Profiles 2018/19 - Tom Denton

ATFC announced the signing of striker Tom Denton from Halifax Town in May 2018.

Tom joins the Reds on a one year deal and is Billy Heath’s first summer signing. Denton’s career began playing for Wakefield FC when he was just 17 years old. He signed for Huddersfield town for £60,000 in 2008. Tom then had a series of loan moves, to Woking and Cheltenham Town as well as twice back to Wakefield, as he struggled to break into the Terriers’ first team squad.

Tom joins the Reds for his second spell with us after moving to the Impact Arena in 2012 before a loan move to Worksop Town was made permanent. Denton would then link up with Billy Heath at North Ferriby United in 2014; he won the FA Trophy with the Villagers in 2015 and scored 21 league goals in the Vanarama National League North during that campaign.

Denton then signed for Halifax Town in the summer of 2016, on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee. He scored ten goals in 31 appearances last season in the National League for the Shaymen, before being released at the end of the season.
