Alastair joined the Reds initially on non-contract terms after impressing in pre-season trials after being released by npower Championship side Barnsley at the end of the 2011/12 season.
He was rewarded with a one-year contract by the Reds on Thursday, August 23rd, 2012.
Taylor graduated to the Barnsley first-team after being named Academy player of the year in 2009/10
He made his senior debut in April 2010 in a 1–0 defeat by Queens Park Rangers at Oakwell and went on to make three more appearances before his release.
