Player Profiles - Martin Riley

ATFC announced the signing of defender Martin Riley from Halifax Town in July 2018.

Martin signed a one year deal at the Impact Arena.

The 31 year old defender has been well travelled, with his last club being Halifax last season before Riley was released at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Martin joined Halifax from Wrexham in May 2017 and was the Shaymen’s first signing after winning promotion to the National League. Martin came through the youth ranks at Wolverhampton Wanderers and then left for Shrewsbury Town where he failed to make a league appearance.

A move to Kidderminster Harriers followed in 2008 and after two years with Kiddy, Riley joined Cheltenham Town in 2010. Riley would then join Mansfield Town in 2011, making 33 appearances before joining Wrexham in 2012; winning the F.A. Trophy in the 2012/13 season.

A return to the Stags then came in 2013, before a move to Tranmere and a second spell at Wrexham in May 2016 followed, before signing for Halifax.
