Player Profiles 2017/18 - Marcus Marshall

 Wide player, Marcus Marshall signed a one year deal for Alfreton Town in June 2017 from Boston United.

Marshall was a youth product of then Premier League side Blackburn Rovers and was included in the first team squad in 2008 ahead of the 2008/09 season. He made his first team debut in the League Cup coming off the bench in a 4-1 win over Grimsby Town.

In January 2010 he was loaned to Rotherham United and became a free agent as he was released by Blackburn. He returned to Rotherham on a permanent basis in July 2010 and scored his first career goal in a 4-1 League Cup defeat to Peterborough United. He was then loaned to Macclesfield Town before the Millers released him in May 2012.

A switch to League One Bury followed in July 2012 before he was loaned for his first spell to Grimsby Town in November. This was extended to cover the whole or the 2012/13 season. Bury recalled him in January, he was then set to join Luton Town but he chose to return to Grimsby for the rest of the season.

Marshall then had spells at Morecambe before being loaned to Lincoln City for the 2014/15 season. Another return to Grimsby followed in June 2015 on a one year deal. Marcus then signed a one year deal at Boston United, covering the 2016/17 season.
