Player Profiles - CLAYTON, Paul

Position: Striker

Squad number: 9

Date of birth: August 31st, 1984

Joined Alfreton Town: December 31, 2007

Highly regarded striker who is now in his sixth successive season with the Reds and a big favourite with the fans.
Paul top scored for the club in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons and netted 20 during the club's 2010/11 Blue Square Bet North title-winning season.
The proud owner of two England C caps, he is unfortunately ineligible for any more call-ups due to being over the requirement age.
Joined the Reds on New Year's Eve in 2008 from Blue Square Conference North side Gainsborough Trinity and is now renowned for his strong front running and finishing.
The Rotherham-based target man began his career at the Barnsley FC Academy where he spent four years. Following release by the Tykes, Paul moved to Northern Counties East League outfit Parkgate before moving to Gainsborough Trinity.
A hard working target man who is good in the air especially but he also has very good control for a big man.
