The Club - ATFC Supporters Assocation

The Supporters Association was reformed in 2003, with the primary objective of organising official transport to away games. For many years fans had to make their own way to matches or try and obtain one of the few places on the team coach. Season 2003/04, saw the club back in the Northern Premier League, for only the second time in the club's history, and for the first time since 1998. As the club now required a more professional approach,it was decided to run seperate coaches, with one coach for the team, management and directors and one for the supporters. During the 2003/04 season the supporters transport was arranged by the Supporters Association, but was subsidised by the football club.

The subsidy from the club was just for the 2003/04 season and so from the start of the 2004/05 season, we had to go it alone. We now had become founder members of the new Conference North League. It was decided to keep the prices the same as the previous season ie £10 adults and £5 for under 16's, for every game reagardless of the distance and whether the bus was full or not. Money to support this would have to come from other sources.

Several fund raising events were organised to support this, incuding a sponsored walk, before the 2004/05 campaign. Transport was run to every away game. This proved to be a great success and was continued for the 2005/06 season.

At this point the Supporters Association grew and became an active part of the Football Club, helping to raise vital funds towards the playing budget. This has continued over the ensuing seasons.

The Future

The Association has now provide official transport to every League, FA Cup, FA Trophy and League Cup fixture, for the last twelve seasons.

We now have an active Committee and many dedicated helpers, who have hepled us to progress to a new level. For the past four seasons, donations to the Football Club have been made on a monthly basis. The Association agreed to a monthly donation of £600 (£7,200 for the season). This is a guaranteed monthly income.

Prior to the 2016/17 season, donations to the Football Club had reached an impressive total of £48,675. On top of this over £110,000 had been spent on coaches for away travel.

We currently have 134 members ( at 28/11/16) and are constantly striving to increase membership, to try and pass our record of 151. We aim to pass the 200 mark.

With your help this can be achieved. Membership is just £5 per season and includes a £3 discount on all away travel.
