NEWSLETTER MESSAGE FROM ALFRETON TOWN FC SUPPORTER'S ASSOCIATION CHAIRMAN
Welcome to the Alfreton Town Football Club Supporters Association Website Newsletter.
The Alfreton Town FC Supporters' Association is a group of fans who have joined together to support the football club by raising funds to help the club progress in the league and onwards.
The Newsletter is not designed as a forum, but as an informative page where those interested in helping support the club can learn of the work we are doing and the planned activities and events to fund raise.
The committee have plans for social events and fundraising schemes ready to help club for the transfer periods ahead.
Members and their children can enjoy discounted fares on the coaches to away matches and we believe these to be amongst the cheapest in the country.
Getting behind the team at away grounds and at home is essential in strengthening the bond between both parties.
Please see items below for details of forthcoming events and schemes which have already been held to raise much-needed funds.
MEETINGS
In addition we meet once a month in the ‘Reds' Bar' on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm, dates as notified, to discuss taking the Association forward and to receive updates on planned events.
It is a warm and friendly social evening in jovial company, a good evening out, come and experience it.
The task we have set ourselves is ongoing and we need all the help we can get. We need funds to help us do our job and this is obtained by an annual Association membership fee of £5. If you are not already a member, please join us and come along and enjoy yourselves helping to support "Often" in a tangible way, besides attending matches. I look forward to meeting and welcoming you into our enthusiastic and joyful group.
Roger Webster, Chairman, Alfreton Town FC Supporters Association

MALLORY PARK FUND RAISER
Alfreton Town fans Dave Wallis and Russ Hardie took to the race track recently in a bid to raise funds for the Supporters Association.
The two recently donned their leathers and raced around Leicestershire's Mallory Park track on motorcycle and sidecar for three adrenaline-filled laps of the circuit, raising an impressive sum of £360.
Sincere thanks should also go to Sarah Abbott for her help in fundraising for the event.
The pair are pictured handing over a cheque to ATFC Supporters' Association vice chairman Paddy Buckley prior to the FA Cup First Round tie with Carlisle United at the Impact Arena on Saturday, November 12th, 2011.

Summary: a) It has always been the intention of the Supporters' Association to provide cheap, affordable away travel to all Alfreton Town FC away fixtures.
b) With the rising cost of fuel, car insurance, road tax, etc, the association believe the above prices offer tremendous value for money and will not be beaten by any other Blue Square Premier Division club.
c) The Supporters' Association are committed to running a coach to all 23 Blue Square Premier Division games - including all night fixtures. Large amounts of numbers over a full coach would be required to consider putting on a second coach to games. This is due to the high cost of an extra vehicle.
d) The idea of the price structure is to offer the cheapest price possible to the away fixture at Mansfield Town; Offer an alternative to car travel to the more local fixtures and offer tremendous value to the long distance away games.
e) The average price for this season's away games (excluding Mansfield) works out at £13.25 per game - a £1.25 increase. With eight games priced at last season's price. With a lot more longer distances to travel this season, we again emphasise the belief that this is great value for money.
f) Coaches to cup games will be priced individually, according to the distance, opposition, etc.
g) The prices stated are subject to review. It is the plan of the Supporters' Association to review the pricing structure after a period of time, to see if it is working well. Any amendments to the pricing structure are at the Supporters' Association committee's discretion.
