Player Profiles 2017 - Adam Smith

Smith was born in Huddersfield, West Yorshire and played in the Huddersfield and District Association Football League for Lepston Highlanders. Whilst playing for Kirkheaton he was spotted by Chesterfield and invited to a trial match, then being offered a place on their Scholarship scheme.

He began training with the First Team during the 2001/02 season and was named on the bench for their 1-0 win at the Madejeski Stadium against Reading on Decemember 1st, 2001.

He made his  debut in a Football League Trophy match against Port Vale on November 22nd , 2002 and his Football League debut on September the 13th, 2003. He was offred a two year professional contract with the Spireites in March 2004.

Smith signed for York City on January 26th, for an undisclosed fee,on a contract till the end of the 2009-10 season. He then signed a one year contract with fellow Conference team Mansfield Town on May the 19th. He then signed for Lincoln City on a one year contract on June 21st 2012. He later joined newly promoted FC Halifax Town on July 2nd, 2013.

He left Halifax, for their National League rivals, Wrexham on June 18th 2015. In November of the same year he went on loan to Guiseley until January 2016. A positive impression at Guiseley, led to him signing permanently. Smith signed for Alfreton in October 2016.
